During her career as a clinical psychologist, Augusta Gross accumulated sketchbooks of her drawings. In 2004, her drawings were published in the literary annual NOON that includes art. They have appeared regularly ever since, flanking the beginning and ending of each issue.
The Times Literary Supplement salutes her “charming drawings of birds-suggestive sketches which gain additional meaning through reference back to their predecessors.”
A new book entitled “Duck in a Chair”, includes a collection of her portraits of birds. It features an interview about her artistic process written by Madelaine Lucas and Lisa St. James. Several of the portraits have been published in the annual literary Journal NOON.
Her latest publication a/Musing/s, is a book of drawings (primarily of birds and dogs), selected from a collection she produced daily during the first year of the pandemic. Copies of A/MUSING/S are available by contacting Augusta at augusta@augustagross.net.
